Audi Q5 Mmi Update Download

Purpose: The purpose of this document is to dump and share my and the original Authors knowledge that has been gained by experimenting and spending countless hours and many nights trying to reverse engineer my MMI units.

Scope: This page will cover Changing Regions on the MMI. You will require specific firmware for your new region as well as Maps for the region you are changing to. NOTE this will not correct any variances in the radio frequencies. Radios have to be done separately and not with software.
Objective: This page is intended to provide the AudiEnthusiasts a general knowledge in MMI Region changes, with the aim to help in-house projects to be more entertaining and successful.

  • Put in the update CD to CD1 (first slot). Charge the battery or keep the engine running outside and NOT in the garage (CO poisoning). Watch the Video below for a few times – After the update, you will lose some MMI screen features (instrument cluster), you will need a VCDS to enable them back on.
  • Over-the-air navigation map updates are also available in the MMI system. Audi has designed the OTA system to track the data used separately from the data used in the customer’s existing Audi connect subscription. The update can be accessed in two different areas of the MMI.
